IN THIS STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE, WE SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE A BEAUTIFUL BENCH USING RUST-OLEUM CHALKY FINISH GARDEN FURNITURE PAINT AND WOODEN PALLETS

In just a few hours, you can transform three ordinary pallets into a bench for two. Choose a color you like and decorate with cushions for the perfect party bench!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Rust-Oleum chalky finish furniture garden paint
  • Wooden pallets
  • Small roller and tray
  • Brush
  • Screws
  • Electric drill

STEPS

1.

Ensure surfaces are smooth, dry, and free from contaminants. Take your chosen shade of Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish paint for garden furniture and paint the pallets.

This clever paint requires no priming, is waterproof, and mold-resistant. Use a small roller for an even finish.

One to two coats will be needed, and you will need to allow the paint to dry for an hour before turning the pallet over and painting the underside. You may need to use a brush for harder-to-reach areas.

2.

Create the base of your bench by stacking one or more pallets to the correct height. When you are happy, secure them with screws and an electric drill.

Add the other pallet, propped in a vertical position, to form the backrest of your bench. Again, secure it in place with a drill and screws.

3.

Get comfortable! Special furniture cushions that fit perfectly on pallets are sold in stores.

Add color with more scatter cushions, potted plants, and fairy lights.
