"How to do it?": Filling holes in a drywall wall
Even if one lives well, sooner or later they have to fix a hole in the wall. Now we will show you how to do it yourself.
Two easy methods on how to repair a hole in drywall yourself. The most important thing is that we will do this without complex tools and machines.
Method 1
- Take a piece of drywall and, with the help of a utility knife, cut out a piece slightly larger than the hole you want to fill, for example, a square.
- Outline the square with a pencil on the wall and then cut along the outline with a saw.
- Then, using drywall tape and joint compound, place it in the cut-out area and apply at least 2 coats of compound to level it.
Method 2
California patch – with absolutely no tools.
- Here again, take a piece of drywall and a utility knife, cut out a square slightly larger than the hole.
- Cut the back of the drywall on all four sides.
- Break off the pieces and peel off as much paper as possible to use it as tape.
- Again, outline with a pencil where the piece should be placed.
- Apply the piece coated with joint compound and press the piece with the paper facing you.
- Apply at least two coats of joint compound.
